Probably the most famous Estonian sundial is situated at the Swans Pond in Kadriorg park. The dial was built by E. Uukivi after the project of architect A. Lomanni in 1937. Sundial is made of Vasalemma marble plate. There are 24 hour lines and 12 signs of the Zodiac (just decoration) marked on the face of the dial. Sundial indicates the true solar time, but there are availabe equations to calculate the time in Eastern Europe Time (EET, +2 GMT). For the protection against repeated vandalism the dial is covered with glass dome.
Dial's reading in the morning at 8:36, 2009-06-16.
