One of the most attractive Estonian sundial was made of dolomite by sculptor Roman Haavamägi in 1924. Surfaces of pentagonal prism base of the horizontal sundial is decorated with the motif of the perishability of human life. For this motif the artist got inspiration from the stone vase, which was situated in De la Gardie Palace. Sundial was destroyed in 1945 and R. Haavamägi restored it in 1960.
